Dr. Amanda Mulloy has served Almonte and the surrounding community with veterinary services since 1997 and is thrilled to be continuing to do so at Valley Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Amanda is well known for her commitment to personalized patient care.

Dr. Beth Emans

Veterinarian

Dr. Beth Emans attended the University of Guelph for her undergraduate degree in Animal Biology and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009. She has gained experience working in general practice and emergency before joining the team at the Valley Vet. Beth spends her time with her horse Tobias and walking her cat Tybalt.

Dr. Evangeline Wiens

Veterinarian

Dr. Evangeline Wiens has been in mixed animal practice for 18 years. Although she has worked with most domestic species, her first love is horses. Dr Wiens enjoys helping horse owners maximize the health of their animals through preventative medicine. She likes to keep up to date with latest issues that concern the health of horses and educating clients with that information. When she is not working or looking after her family, her favorite thing to do is to go for a ride herself!

Dr. Lea Button

Veterinarian

Dr. Lea Button is originally from Sioux Lookout, Ontario, in the northwest of the province. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (Guelph) in 2004. After graduating Lea came to the Ottawa area to work in an equine practice in Embrun where she worked with Standardbred race horses and focused on equine reproduction. Lea was looking to expand her small animal skills and is happy to have found a great mix of dog, cat and horse patients here at Valley Veterinary Clinic. Lea has undertaken specialized training in equine dentistry, ultrasonography and orthopedic surgery. When Lea is not here looking after your pets, she enjoys spending time with her adorable son Ethan, her dog Roxy and cat Black Jack.

Dr. Melissa Rocheleau

Veterinarian

Dr. Melissa Rocheleau is a Smiths Falls native who graduated from St.George's University in 2012. Her last 2 1/2 years have been spent working at an equine practice involving everything from lameness to emergency medicine. She is thrilled to be bringing her equine skills to Valley Veterinary Clinic. In her off time, she enjoys riding her dressage horse and spending time with her family and other farm animals.

Jennifer Wellman

Registered Veterinary Technician

Jenn joined our team in the summer of 2015. She went to St. Lawrence College and graduated the Veterinary Technologist program in 2012. Jenn grew up just outside Almonte on her family's beautiful farm. She has a Newfoundlander named Tucker and a cat named Dudley. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, weightlifting and crafts.

Tara Menzies

Registered Veterinary Technician

Tara started working here at Valley Vet, Thanksgiving 2013. She grew up in the small town of Nottawa, ON and just recently moved to the Ottawa area. She graduated from the veterinary technician program at Algonquin College in 2009 and has been working at various vet clinics throughout the country. She has 2 cats at home and a beautiful Golden Retriever 'Blaze'. In her spare time she enjoys running, hiking and snowboarding.

Shallen Moffitt

Registered Veterinary Technician

Shallen grew up in the Ottawa area. She graduated from Northern College in 2003 from the Veterinary Technician program. In June 2003 she wrote the registration exam and became a registered veterinary technician. Shallen currently lives in Smiths Falls with her husband, 3 daughters, a dog (Aussie) and a cat (Harry). She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, ATVing and doing some arts and crafts in her spare time.

Sarah Wilson

Equine Technician

Sarah joined our team in December 2009 having graduated from the Equine Science program at Olds College in Alberta. Her passion for horses led her family to Lanark County where she helps manage the Family Farm – Pikturesque Farms. She enjoys the challenge of working with and training young horses, and her love of all animals has made Sarah a natural fit at Valley Vet clinic. When she is not assisting the veterinarians with farm calls, Sarah is the coordinator of all of the equine services at VVC. Feel free to discuss any specific dietary concerns for your cat, dog or horses with Sarah.

Christiane Bekolay

Receptionist

Christiane joined our team in the Fall of 2010 after graduating from the Veterinary Assistant program at Algonquin College. She grew up in a rural area near Dunrobin and enjoys gardening and the outdoors. We can always count on her to help out in the clinic wherever needed, from greeting people at the front desk, to caring for our in hospital patients. Not a person to sit still for too long, Christiane is constantly on the lookout to learn new things and improve her skills. Her compassionate and caring nature make working at Valley Vet Clinic a natural fit.

Kelly McLellan

Receptionist

Kelly has been working in the veterinary field since 1990. While working at Valley Veterinary Clinic, she returned to College to graduate with honors, as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Kelly is always at the front desk to greet patients and owners with a smile. Kelly has a soft spot for Pugs, she has a 6 year old male named 'DeNiro' and adopted a deaf bulldog named 'Zsa Zsa'. She loves working with animals and her special areas of interest include nutrition and supplements.

Christine Brennan

Veterinary Assistant

Before joining Valley Vet, Christine spent 6 years as a supervisor of a large pet store where she specialized in the care of exotic pets. While working, Christine attended Algonquin College and graduated with her Veterinary Assistant certificate. She is an accomplished horsewoman having successfully shown for many years on the trillium and A circuits and winning numerous Equitation, Hunter and Jumper Championships and awards. She is relied upon to provide nursing care and monitoring to both equine and small animal patients here at VVC. When not at work Christine helps to manage the family farm, Kilkenny, and is always on the lookout for her next special horse.

Mary Jane Murphy

Veterinary Assistant

Mary Jane has been with us since 2007 and performs a variety of essential tasks in the clinic. Apart from keeping the clinic clean and organized, she assists with daily animal care, reception and product inventory. When not at work, MJ can typically be found enjoying the outdoors with her family!

Gerry

Fancy Feline Friend

Gerry is one of our special clinic cats. With a spunky and spirited personality Gerry can't wait to greet everyone coming through the door. He may even keep you company by sitting on your lap while you wait in our reception area.

Luke

Fancy Feline Friend

Luke is the newest addition to our team. Sweet and shy at times, Luke loves to cuddle. Gerry has taken quite a shine to Luke and the two can usually be found playing, grooming and snoozing together.
