If the pet has a collar with identification, please call the owner.
If the pet has a rabies tag with our clinic information please contact us during business hours only and we will be happy to help you track down the owner. We are also happy to scan any animal for a microchip during office hours. We cannot impound, hold or foster stray animals if the owner has not been found and contacted.
If there is no identification or you suspect the animal to be a stray or it is causing a problem please call animal control. In Carleton Place and Mississippi Mills the number for animal control is 613-809-7048.
The local animal shelter and SPCA if you would like to report animal abuse or cruelty is the Lanark Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) in Smiths Falls. You can contact them at 613-283-9308 or www.lanarkanimals.ca.
