At Valley Veterinary Clinic, we are equipped to see certain small animal veterinary emergencies during our regular hours. Please call us at (613) 257-3202 before your arrival so we may prepare for you and your pet.
Valley Veterinary Clinic is not staffed overnight. Critical patients are checked after hours but will be left unsupervised in the facility. Transfer to an Emergency Hospital may be arranged for patients requiring 24-hour supervision and intensive care.

To improve access to veterinary care for all patients, we have teamed up with a Canadian veterinarian-led company named Smart.Vet. Smart.Vet allows you, our clients, access to Registered Veterinary Technicians over the phone whenever our hospital is not open to take your call. These RVTs can speak with you to ascertain the level of care that your pet requires, and will then facilitate scheduling an appointment with one of their licensed Ontario-based veterinarians. If your pet requires critical in-person intervention, the RVT will be able to determine this over the phone with you and will assist you by making arrangements for your pet to be transferred for physical care.
The phone number you will use to access our RVTs is 647-695-5411. There is no cost for this call or any assistance provided by the RVTs. If you are booked with a virtual veterinarian, the consultation will have a cost, with an additional service fee if medication is prescribed.
You also can book directly with a Smart.Vet veterinarian by visiting https://smartvet.ca/login. Once you’ve created an account, you can decide to send in a message or request a phone/video call. When you’ve submitted a phone/video request, a veterinarian will reach out to you as soon as they’re available. Please just wait for a call from 289-768-8784 – this may take more than 20 minutes when we’re experiencing high call volumes.
Once a request has been submitted, you can add additional notes or images/videos to the consultation for the veterinarian’s reference.
